As a judge in Hong Kong's judiciary system, he had produced an evaluation of a defendant as displaying an intense love of society because the defendant had been a perpetrator in the stabbing an anti-China politician. His position as a judge in court, who forms his verdicts based on such politically motivated evaluations, gravely and seriously undermines Hong Kong's judicial independence and institutions to uphold civil rights and freedoms (“親共老漢刺傷長毛”, 2020).

身為香港司法機構下的法官，他曾經在一次審理泛民主派、反中共獨裁的立法會議員受襲擊案件的途中，稱讚被告「有高尚情操」。他的強烈親中立場嚴重影響司法公正，破壞香港法治、司法獨立及摧毁香港市民應有之人權及自由。
