在2019年8月31日晚上 10 時 45 分，有示威者與市民太子站列車車廂往發生爭執，雙方推撞及擲物，列車停駛。
約十分鐘後，多名警方速龍成員及防暴警察衝入太子站往中環月台及列車，以警棍不停毆打車廂內示威者、市民，有戴口罩、穿白衣的市民一度跪地要求警察停止，但警繼續施放胡椒噴霧，並在月台上拘捕多名示威者。

在影片29至32秒可見未依足程序開射催淚彈，並且以水平射擊，涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。
