在2019年8月31日晚上 10 時 45 分，有示威者與市民太子站列車車廂往發生爭執，雙方推撞及擲物，列車停駛。
約十分鐘後，多名警方速龍成員及防暴警察衝入太子站往中環月台及列車，以警棍不停毆打車廂內示威者、市民，有戴口罩、穿白衣的市民一度跪地要求警察停止，但警繼續施放胡椒噴霧，並在月台上拘捕多名示威者。

(a)(b)(c)警員以左手掩眼，右手使用胡椒噴霧攻擊記者。當時，記者已身穿黃色反光衣，並戴上印有「PRESS」字樣的頭盔，足以讓警方明辨記者身份。。該名警員不顧記者之採訪自由，以胡椒噴霧攻擊記者。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。這亦涉嫌違反警察通例 (39-05)，警務人員應盡可能協助新聞媒體工作者的採訪工作 ...
