在2019年10月1日，警員使用實彈打傷一名市民左胸，以下為新聞節錄：
荃灣大河道有示威者心口中槍倒地，本台錄到警員開槍一刻。警員當時在超近距離開槍，打向示威者左胸，該示威者約一秒後向後倒地。其後，警方消息亦確認有一名示威者因中實彈而受傷。 A police fired bullet with his revolver at the protestor in very close distance, the protestor then collapsed onto the ground. The Hong Kong Police Force also confirmed that a protestor was injured by ammunition.

從影片中可見，警員罔顧地鐵站樓梯後已屬於室內地方，在金鐘地鐵站C出口附近放煙霧彈，迫使市民走進地鐵站。期間，有市民拉回一名女士向後退，顯然已有離開意欲，警員卻處處逼進，甚至直接在站內使用胡椒噴霧攻擊示威人士及市民。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。
