示威者要求報案指懷疑大批警員冒警，但疑似總督察的指揮官指出「我話佢地係（警察）就係」。這說法涉嫌違反《警察通例》(20-14-2)中指出，便衣人員不論是否當值，在與巿民接觸和行使警察權力時，必須表明身分及出示委任證。在案發現場的便衣人員，須將委任證掛在顯眼的地方，讓人易於辨認其身分。

楊啟明係香港警察嘅一份子。據前友人資料，佢係2019年反送中示威開始後，聲稱自己未參與鎮壓示威行動，意圖保住朋友，但又為人工唔肯辭職。然後最近買樓後，就開始埋怨示威令佢地瞓唔到。2019年11月時兩人即將結婚，被昔日同學杯葛，及後佢聲稱擔心示威者而取消婚禮。

用手大力扯開口罩，疑似大力拍打市民面部，涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。亦涉嫌違反警察通例(44-05) “人員應盡可能以有禮貌的態度進行搜查，並須顧及被搜查人士的尊嚴”
