一男子站在天橋上拍攝期間，遭布袋彈(或橡膠子彈)射向大腿，幸好褲袋的電話擋了彈才免於受傷。當時該男子並無攻擊或威脅警察，可見警方開槍前，並沒有按照指引。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。

劉建玲係一名親共人士，曾經係Facebook上指責被警察圍困喺沙田新城市廣場嘅示威者係「恐怖份子」，紀錄如下： 除此之外，劉建玲係親中組織「義連班」有份搞親中交流團，同沙田、馬鞍山中學合作，以平價團費吸引學生。學生需要經過面試先可以入團，內容有試過涉及政治問題。交流團會有中聯辦職員跟團，親中派區議員李世榮亦多次跟團，團內要求學生見到毛主席畫象要做敬禮手勢。
